Tailgating Made Easy!

Love these crates... I'm not sure why I'm drawn to crates... They make me feel rustic snd homey... I like taking events and making them feel homey so I guess that's why crates fit in to most everything I do. Most craft superstores are running big sales this fall. Consider using your coupon to purchase a fancy won't be sorry. You can use them for anything and everything! This one is (obviously) being used to haul water to our tailgate. Add a little ribbon (with your team's colors, of course) and you are good to go!

DIY Tailgating Essentials!

I love football season... everything about it... the weather, the team spirit and the food!! Plus, DIY is perfect for tailgating! Love this huge bucket I picked up at Walmart (under $10)! Added a collegiate decal (it's actually a car window decal so it can come off too) I plugged in my hot glue gun and slapped on some ribbon and ta da....ready to go and fill it with whatever... This one is big enough to be a drink cooler... So a little ice, soft drinks and water and we are ready to roll!

September's Family Fun Guide for Fall

1. Tailgating - A Hoosier favorite pastime! Nothing celebrates Fall like a great tailgate! Cheer on The Colts or your favorite high school or collegiate team! Here are easy tips for throwing a great Tailgate this Fall!

2. Apple Orchard & Apple Picking- One of our favorite family activities in September is heading out to your local apple orchard to pick apples, get fresh apple cider and more! Most orchards are family owned and operated and have a family weekend activity guide that runs September through October. Many have pony rides corn mazes and a country stores. Check out Tuttle's Orchard in Greenfield, Spencer Farms in Noblesville and Conner Prairie's Apple Store is always a family fave!

3. Visit A State Park/ Horseback Riding & Zipling - There is nothing like Autumn in Indiana! Indiana has 25 official state parks! What better way to enjoy Fall then by zipling through a canopy of trees or taking a trail ride  on horseback! Brown County State Park is great for both of these activities or check out your nearest state park for their list of Fall activities!

GLOW BACK TO SCHOOL: A Back-to-School Backyard Bash

Schools back in session and hosting a back to school bash is always a great way for your kids to get to know their new classmates!

Keep it simple and fun by having a GLOW back to school backyard party! Here are some easy how to's!

1. Glow in the Dark Backyard Badminton & Kickball Party! Keeping it interactive is key... Have something for them to do that's fun! Keeping it outside keeps them moving and the mess manageable! Set up a badminton net in your backyard and use your Christmas lights to illuminate it so they can play in the dark! Use glow in the dark birdies and Glow in the dark body paint to put on faces, legs and arms. Most glow in the dark body paint is non-toxic and doesn't stain!  Glow in the dark necklaces are also a great option!

Glow in the dark kickball snake for a fun game too! Most can be found on Amazon or at superstores. Painting the bases with glow in the dark paint is s great way to light up the backyard too!

2. Glow For It: Neon Candy Bar- Easy and fun treats to set up are a must for a Glow Back to school Backyard Bash! Use jars and glass containers and fill with bright and neon candy!

3. Neon Baking Day for Littles- If your younger kids need a special day after their older siblings start school set aside some time to have a Neon Baking Day with them! It's a great activity that can be educational too! Kids love measuring and pouring ingredients and it's a wonderful way to make them feel special! Using neon icing, neon cupcake wrappers and decorations are all easy ways to incorporate fun into baking for them!

Patriotic table setting!

Like you, we love celebrating the Fourth of July with friends and family! Setting a table can be simple and still reflect the 4th!
A table runner in red, white and blue mix and match plates (mixing and matching plastic dinnerware is great and makes for easy cleanup) and some fresh cut garden flowers make a festive and welcoming table to celebrate the 4th of July!
