Mary Susan is the author of the popular book, Mommy Magic: Tricks for Staying Sane in the Midst of Insanity. She has also contributed to the book, Bye-Bye Boardroom: Confessions from a New Breed of Stay-At-Home Mom’s twice featured on the Today Show and Mom’s Night Out: Even Inmates Get Time Off for Good Behavior. Recently, she was a featured and a contributing author in two wonderful books: Nothing But The Truth So Help Me God: Women's Life Transitions and Indy Writes Book (along with John Green).
As one of the Midwest's premier parenting experts, Mary Susan writes a featured column for several Parenting Magazines. She is also the TV Host of WXIN’s FOX 59's Mommy MagicSegment, offering relevant and helpful tips to make motherhood more manageable, fun and affordable. Her TV segment is based on her popular Mommy Magic Blog (Mommy-Magic.com).
In her free time, Mary Susan is an advocate for not-for-profit organizations that support children, education, health and wellness. She has served as President for the Indiana University Alumni Club in Indianapolis, served eight years in various leadership capacities for The Junior League of Indianapolis including serving on the Board of Directors. She also served for several years as the Chairperson of an annual fundraising event benefiting Ovarian Cancer. Mary Susan was recently selected to serve as the 2016 Chair of the Indiana University’s Colloquium for Women National Leadership Conference. She also serves on the Indiana University's National Women's Philanthropy Council and the Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Board. She and her husband, Zach, helped launch a Speech & Hearing Resource Center in Indianapolis that helps all children born deaf or with hearing impairment learn how to speak and listen, a cause close to their heart since their middle daughter was born legally deaf. In 2015, their youngest daughter was diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic and since then Mary Susan has become involved with JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) as new Board Member for the Indiana Chapter.
A true extrovert, Mary Susan enjoys skiing, traveling, cooking and baking with her girls and spending time with family and friends and considers her most rewarding role being mom to her three beautiful girls.
